Brandon Routh, who starred as Superman in Superman Returns, has agreed to join the cast of the sports movie Crooked Arrows. The film is set to be a first among the sport genre as it is the first to be based around the lacrosse.
Brandon is set to play a character who is made to become the coach of a Native American high school lacrosse team. His team end up having to compete against the local prep school, which his character used to be a student at.
Routh explained, "While it has all the ingredients of a classic underdog sports movie, it actually appealed to me on a deeper level. I think the father-son and brother-sister dynamics of the story are compelling, as is [the] more spiritual Native American aspect."
