Companies have been using reality television stars to promote their products for quite some time now, with social media being a great way to get your products out there. This is exactly what Carolyn Sitt did, when she sent some products to Khloe Kardashian, who went on to share them on her official social media accounts.
Since this worked out so well for Carolyn, she decided that she would send some more products to Khloe, including her Boob Tape, which was supposedly in a box marked "patent pending". Well, this time Kardashian did not promote the product and it was not loing before her sister Kim Kardashian was claiming the Boob Tape as her very own invention.
Sitt was talking about the situation, when she explained, "This time it backfired because there was no shout out and no thank you. Five months later Kim announced her ‘invention.’ How coincidental! For [her lingerie brand] SKIMS, I invented this really soft material … that was really easy to take off."
The entrepreneur then went on to add, "Ellen asked her about her body tape and Kim started explaining this great revelation that she had, and how she invented this tape. She mentioned the words ‘I invented’ over and over. I found that quite brazen, hurtful and insulting."
Since this all went down, there have been many more companies coming up with their own version of Boob Tape, but Carolyn SItt is insistent that she was the original inventor. As for Kim Kardashian, she seems to be keeping quiet on the matter and continuing to claim it for her own.
