Following the flop of the Green Lantern movie, it was hard to envisage them going ahead with the planned sequel or trilogy. Now, Mark Strong, who played Sinestro in the Green Lantern movie, has admitted that he does not think that the Green Lantern sequel will ever be made.
Strong told MTV News, "I loved making 'Green Lantern' and I loved playing Sinestro. I would be surprised if they made a second one because I’ve heard nothing about it in quite a while now." Mark also went on to explain why he felt that Green Lantern flopped, saying that he felt fans were confused by the mid-credits putting on of the ring.
He added, "A lot of people seemed to be confused by him putting on the ring at the end of the movie. They felt that it came out of nowhere." Strong also admitted that the planned Green Lantern trilogy would have been, "very exciting because the putting on of the ring and the whole suit turning yellow would have been great fun."
While a Green Lantern sequel does seem unlikely, it does seem like we will eventually get to see the character again on the big screen, in the much talked about Justice League movie.
